We have a capacity of roughly 15,000 head with individual lot capactiy ranging from 50-300 head. Our pens provide an excellent environment for cattle gains due to the maintenance of our concrete aprons and
sloped, earthen mounds. Cattle is finished out in our new 1200 head confinement barn, which, along with our other facilities, is located within a 25 to 100 mile radius of five major packing plants.
S&A Feedlots has access to a large supply of irrigated corn and alfalfa hay which is bought locally at the lowest price. Along with these ingredients, we use wet distillers grain to enhance our rations, making our cost of gain some of the lowest around.
In addition, we have all the facilities and manpower to process, sort, and treat cattle. To insure the recovery of sick cattle, our hospital pens are protected with an over head roof for shelter against the elements. Fresh bedding is used at all times during inclement weather, and a professional nutritionist and veterinarian consultant are available at all times.
Cattle pen riding is done 1-2 times daily and bunk reading is done 2-3 times daily. All pen feeding is done 2-3 times per day with rations that are specialized for specific growth weights. Cattle are fed rolled corn, alfalfa, wet distillers, and earlage.
